About DeafYoga Foundation
The DeafYoga Foundation is a Deaf-based non-profit organization dedicated to the newest Yoga movement... Deaf Yoga. We are committed to uniting the Deaf and Yoga communities through a variety of networks, offerings and volunteers. In fact, we are 100% volunteer-based 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to serve as an education and resource center for the global Deaf yoga community and its members, creating and ensuring equal access to the transformative teachings of Yoga. With members worldwide, DYF is a leader in sharing classical yoga texts in American Sign Language (ASL) and a pioneer in the “equal access” movement in Yoga.
Our vision includes all peoples, all cultures, all languages, all Yogas and is the living, breathing essence of this practice... UNION.
Our Mission and Vision
Founded in 2007, our intention is to empower, educate and support Deaf and Hard of Hearing community members in the quest to learn Yoga. We do this through three main service programs:
3)Community Outreach & Network (our resource center)
Our service programs are offered to a variety of peoples - Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Children Of Deaf Adults (CODAs), sign language interpreters, hearing signers and hearing non-signers.
